The radicle is the first plant part to emerge from the seed shell. When the radicle emerges, germination. Some seeds are not viable, bound in seed form decaying back to earth. Some are vigorous and tower over others quickly. Some will be culled by hand or mouth or will self select by not engaging with the time cycling of birth. Seeds are variable in their outward expressions: rugged brown, crooked and jagged, teardrop grey and slick perfect black spheres. For all these forms, the radicle is always the first to break the boundary and lead the way. The husk of the seed protects the embryo. It provides the capsule for the embryo to travel space and time. It also allows for the cracking of it’s existence by the radicle. Husk must morph so embryo can persist in it’s efforts with all it’s parts. Embryo feeds until plant stands on its own in concert with fire, water, earth, and air. Yes, seed germination, the ether and essence of possibilities unleashed. (For purposes of this rumination, dicot focus to emulate dualistic nature of the mind. )
The radical is the one that holds the extreme view. They are fervently opposed to the status quo and are often perceived as a rebel in need of further oppression. Even others that agree with them are often afraid to take a stand, to venture into a new reality. The radical fuels action to the engines of counter inertia to create shifts and changes. The radical looks to uproot systems that no longer serve needs or desires. These radicals require the same knowing and determination the radicle holds. The knowing, without words, that what is on the other side is death to current position in trade for multiplied regenerative power…. One seed can make millions more similar quantum/genetic makeup and express in exponential radiance. The radical, to flower and flourish, need be stout of heart and unwavering in pursuit of unfettered freedom within and without. Some will be fed encouragement from elders. Some will experience imprisonment or execution imposed by the dominant and privileged. Social construct, for both the radicle and the radical, can bring life or death. The interrelation where greater is not adding up parts, but a more complex mathematical equation with innumerable answers.
The seed is watered. It imbibes. In Nature’s chaotic complex system, the seed chances itself, it’s what it must do. The seed doesn’t deliberate or ruminate about it’s Dharma. It pursues karma. Some seeds are burned by literal fire. Others receive limited water and burn in this way. The seeds that miraculously receive what they need become what they are. These warrior seeds soldier on to do what they do because that’s what they’re here to do. Some seeds are intentionally sown, nurtured, and receive the exact requirements of their magical code. Buried or kept in the light, they have their preferences. Do they want stratification or scarification? What special treatment is their secret code? Breaking the code, life breaks through the safety and longevity of time traveling capsule seed form.
The radicle pushes, emerges, moves into darkness and roots down. Cotyledons rise and start feeding first true leaves photosynthesizing. The radicle requires rooting into darkness in order to meet the sun. Processing the sun, water,and CO2, beginning to pump the fire within, photosynthesis. Seeds always know what to do for they contain the wisdom of their ancestors. This one, plant kingdom. Dependant on animal kingdom only in cultivated enculturated systems. The construct of seed pushes the radicle out so it can meet it’s destiny.
There must be an ecstatic pain, perhaps viscerally terrifying, leaving safety of seed container. Simultaneously, an ecstacy of liberation. The rapture of both together. A fortitude of forwarding on to better the All knowing it has completed it’s mission regardless of outcome.
The Radical is animal kingdom, a heterotroph. Fed the subliminal messages and indoctrination through enculturation. Right from wrong, possible and not possible, reality and fantasy. Some humans still hold animistic views. They have often been characterized as uncivilized. This is a crime. Connection to earth needs reseeding into the global brain. Those who understand all things are composed of god particles. Those who know All things in the world are animated with life force. These ones who cherish and respect all of creation. The humans that hold the conviction of a free and just world are labeled radicals, dangerous, to be outcast.
We need more of these daring radicals ready to emerge from their spaceships. And when there’s critical mass in this direction, the 100th monkey will not be the radical. The radicle radically changes the seed and initiates the next beginning stage of the seed’s full mission, to make more seeds with new genetic make ups. Advocates for complete, thorough, and extreme metamorphosis of the seed, complete overhaul of the restraints of systemic injustice and oppression. You gotta get up, get out, and do something.
