That feeling of anticipation, of knowing something is on the way in space and/or time, can create a sense of awe and wonder. When knowing something you want to have happen is about to come, it can feel like riding the crest of the wave in ecstasy. So what if you always maintained this sense of anticipation of good things coming? Stand in the excitement of not having the thing and in its potentiality. Pure potentiality without the having of the thing, not needing the thing to actually happen, but knowing that it will and other wildly dreamed of events are always around the corner.
I’ll go see a concert next week. Steel Pulse just put out a new album “Mass Manipulation” so they’re touring. When I was in high school, their album “Earth Crisis” was part of my life soundtrack as I listened to it constantly. These days I like to listen to Tara Brach and I just came across her podcast titled “Earth Crisis: on the edge of the roof”. Its from September 2014, but when I first pulled it up I thought it was from just a couple days ago. So I anticipate how these synchronicities will play out at the concert this weekend and bring the potential for additional things to anticipate.
Additional events of anticipation that I haven’t even considered. You don’t know what you don’t know and you can’t unknow something once it’s come to be known. The weaving of these seemingly unrelated things that fall into place to show me something I may or may not be able to interpret. Anticipation rather than expectation. Expectation is desiring a certain outcome. Where anticipation is a bhav, a sensation, of things working out exactly as they need to, exactly as they are supposed to regardless of our smaller needs and wants to have them end up a particular way. So find the magic in anticipation, the finding out of how the bigger you sees the pure potentiality of amazingness. Open yourself up to allowing things to be as they can be in a spectacular way that’s more magical than you expect. Let the crest of the wave of anticipation be the bhav that brings awe and wonder to a level you may have never thought possible.
